Facials are great for anyone wanting a clear and balanced complexion. How often do I need a facial?

We recommend a deep cleansing facial at least once a month. Individuals can increase the frequency of facials if they wish to target a specific skincare concern.

What are extractions?

Extractions are the removal of impurities and impacted pores – specifically, blackheads, whiteheads, milia (hardened “sesame seed” like whiteheads), and sebaceous filaments (pores blocked by oil produced in the skin). Removal of these impactions allows reduces pore size while allowing them to “breathe”.

How do I prepare for a facial?

We suggest arriving with no makeup on; however, we will remove your makeup if needed. Otherwise, there is no preparation for a facial, be prepared to be relaxed and rejuvenated.

How do I know what type of facial I need?

Our medical aestheticians are trained and licensed to properly identify various skin types, conditions, and the proper approach to each. Based on your intake form, consultation, and a thorough skin analysis she will be able to suggest the best approach to reaching your skincare goals.

Is there any downtime for this treatment?

No, however, for clients with sensitive skin or more reactive skin types, there may be redness to the skin post-treatment. Any treatment stimulating the skin may cause irritation. Extractions may cause swelling in the areas treated.

If this is your first treatment or your first in a while (more than two months), small skin breakouts may appear. This effect on your skin is temporary, and once the breakouts have cleared up, your skin will appear healthier and clearer than before.

What to do post-treatment?

We recommend using sunscreen, regardless of the time of year, harmful UV rays are present even during the winter months. Our staff can assist in choosing the sunscreen best suited for you as we have an array of options to choose from.

If your skin begins to have small breakouts, this is completely normal. Please do not pick at your skin as it may cause more irritation and continue to use a gentle cleanser twice a day.

Lastly, be sure to book your next appointment to see optimal results. We recommend coming in once a month, unless otherwise specified.
